Paco Azorin - director
Paco Azorin studied stage design and direction in the Institut del Teatre of Barcelona.
He has designed more than a hundred productions for opera, theatre, dance and music
events. In Spain, he operates mainly in theaters and public festivals, such as,
Lliure National Drama Centre Theatre Spanish, Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Gran
Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Grec Festival, among others. He created in 2003 the
Shakespeare Festival Santa Susana and in 2007 as Director and Designer he created
the world premiere of an inedited text by Bernard-Marie Koltès: Hamlet: the
day of the assassination. In 2008, the city of Madrid invited him to direct
in the Plaza Mayor the anthology of Zarzuelas, that commemorate the centenary of
the death of Federico Chueca and in 2009 to directed Cien punaos de rosas for
the centenary of Ruperto Chapi. 2010 is the year where he designed Con los pies
en la luna by Antoni Parera Fons, a co-production of Gran Teatre
del Liceu, Teatro Real, Teatro de la Maestranza, Abao-Olbe and Barcelona Grec Festival.
He received several awards: the Crítica Serra d’Or 2004 and Butaca 2004, also
Premio Josep Solbes 2005 of the Generalitat Valenciana for the best lighting
and set design for Sopa de pollo con cebada. The Premio de
las Artes Escénicas de la Generalitat Valenciana for the best set design
2008 for Los enredos de Scapin. Butaca award 2009 and Premio de
la Asociación e Directores de Escena de España(ADE), both for The House
of Bernarda Alba, producing the National Theatre Catalunya and Spanish
Theatre in Madrid. Recently he directed: La voix humaine in Teatro Liceu
de Barcelona; Tosca in Teatro Maestranza, Sevilla; Otello
at the Festival in Peralada
Plans include: Salome in Festival Granada; Otello at the
Opera Festival in Macerata; Jerusalem at the Oper Bonn; Marìa Moliner
at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid; as designer in Bangkok and in Galileo
Galilei at the Centro Dramático Nacional in Madrid.

Blagoj Nacoski - Don Ottavio
Appreciated for his elegant singing style, he is becoming one of the most interesting
voices of his generation for the Mozart repertoire. After making his debut in Lucia
di Lammermoor at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, he was Don Ottavio
besides Renato Bruson in Don Giovanni in Miskolc. Important collaborations
in prestigious theaters and Festivals followed; he sang in: Regio in Parma, La
Fenice in Venice, Alighieri in Ravenna, Zurich Opernhaus, Frankfurt Oper,
Bayerische Staatsoper, Théatre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Seattle Opera, Canadian Opera
Company in Toronto, Teatro Bunka Kaikan, New National Theater and Suntory Hall di
Tokyo, Opéra in Skopje, Opera in Warsaw, Opéra in Limoges, Gran Theatre in Aix-En-Provence,
Salzburg Festival, Miskolc Opera Festival, Ohrid Summer Festival. His repertoire
includes operas by Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, Britten. He recorded for TDK, Dynamic,
MR Classics. He recently performed: Falstaff (Fenton) in Sao Paulo; Così Fan Tutte in Vilnius; Don Giovanni in
Skopje then on tour in Bangkok and in Modena and in Lucca; Il Re Pastore
(Alessandro) in Trieste; Turandot (Pong) under the baton of Riccardo
Chailly and Tosca (Spoletta) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Die
Zauberflöte in Prague; La Cenerentola in Cyprus.
